INFORMIX OnLine/Secure is a multilevel secure relational databasemanagement system (RDBMS) for secure UNIX platforms. It is designed tomeet the high security requirements of the B1 class, as defined by theU.S. Department of Defense "Orange Book" and the Trusted DatabaseInterpretation, as well as the F3/E3 rating, defined by the EuropeanInformation Technology Security Evaluation Criteria (ITSEC).OnLine/Secure 4.1 was the first RDBMS selected by the U.S. NationalComputer Security Center (NCSC) for evaluation at the B1 and C2 levelsof security. It provides more than just high security. It is designed tomeet the demanding performance and availability requirements of on-linetransaction processing (OLTP) applications, as well as the emerging waveof imaging and multimedia applications that require the efficienthandling of binary large objects (BLOBs) inside the database.
